We may be in the midst of one of the hottest summers ever in the UK, but back on the 6th of July we were getting in the festive spirit for our Homewares Christmas Long Lead Power Pitching Event!
We had these 6 amazing brands in attendance, ranging across various homeware categories including kitchenware, garden & outdoors, crafts, Christmas decorations and more:
They pitched their hottest festive homeware products to 30 of our journalist friends, from publications such as House Beautiful, Good Housekeeping, Prima, Woman & Home, The Sun, Real Homes, Ideal Home and more!
Our journalists enjoyed hearing about a variety of Christmas offerings, with both HomeStyle and Your Home saying they would like to feature all of the products pitched. Product highlights for our other journalists included the Oxfam knitted jumper tree decorations for Prima and the Christmas ranges by Salter and Russell Hobbs for The Mirror. Meanwhile, Real Homes loved the Cricut Joy and Ideal Home particularly liked the festive decorations by Dobbies and The Range.
We were delighted to receive some great feedback on the event from journalists in attendance, including these testimonials:
“The event was really useful and informative. There were lots of ideas we can use and the timing was great for long-lead publications like ours.” Kirstie Duhig, HomeStyle & Your Home
“An efficient and engaging way to absorb Christmas press releases!” Lindsay Davis, Realhomes.com
“A great event, very well run and organised with some brilliant brands to view.” Holly Walsh, Ideal Home
“This is a great way to get an insight into this year's Christmas trends and product highlights in such a time-efficient format.” Anna-Lisa De’Ath, Your Home Christmas Made Easy & HomeStyle Christmas
We partnered with Arena Flowers for this event, who sent our media attendees their beautiful Summer Holiday bouquet, composed of sunflowers, yellow roses, lilac stocks and more! The flowers received a great reaction from the journalists with Samantha Price from Bauer praising the “gorgeous arrangement” whilst Anna-Lisa De’Ath loved “the eco-friendly packaging.”
The event was a huge success and we want to give a special shout out to Kate from Cricut who was wearing a fabulous Christmas jumper, despite the sun outside, and to The Range and Dobbies Garden Centres who pitched with fantastically festive Zoom backgrounds. This really helped everyone get in the festive spirit and definitely contributed to the lively and enthusiastic atmosphere!
We are now looking forward to seeing 3 of the brands in attendance - Dobbies Garden Centres, Russell Hobbs and Cricut - at The Big Christmas Press Show on the 14th-15th of September this year.
