Carry On Christmas: The Big Christmas Press Show Going Ahead
“There will be joy in Christmas” Queen's Christmas Day speech 2021
The Big Christmas Press Show is going ahead on 14th & 15th September 2022
Train strikes called off in respect to Queen Elizabeth II
We are deeply saddened by the news that HM Queen Elizabeth II passed away yesterday afternoon, Thursday 8th September 2022. In The Queen’s speech last Christmas, the final in her 70 year reign as monarch, she mentioned that even after experiencing loss, ‘there will be joy in Christmas.’
After careful consideration, we can confirm that The Big Christmas Press Show is going ahead on 14th & 15th September at The Business Design Centre in London. The venue has confirmed it is open for business and It has also been announced that the ASLEF train strikes planned for 12 operating companies on Thursday 15th September have been called off in a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II. This will support ease of travel to and from the event.
We understand that recent news may put strain on certain members of the media community with enhanced coverage over the coming week. However, we also acknowledge the importance of the festive season for the media community and the necessity to gather content for product pages and gift guides later in the year. For this reason, we believe it is best that the show goes ahead to support the retail and media community throughout the rest of 2022.
We hope that all media registered for The Big Christmas Press Show can still attend. We appreciate it is a sensitive time and if you would prefer to not be contacted about the event whilst you pay your respects to HRH, please get in touch with a member of the PR team who will remove you from all communications immediately.
We hope that The Big Christmas Press Show will offer a few hours of light relief during a time of mourning. As The Queen mentioned in her final Christmas Day speech in 2021, “Christmas can speak to the child within us all” and we certainly hope that the event will help you to capture the playful spirit of Christmas.
